With her little retorts of defense, he could tell already it was something she was use to doing. He only shook his head at her as he continued what he was doing. When the basket was full of what he believed would be sufficient he went to the register. Everything was bagged and he had paid before walking out to join her. “If this was charity you’d be able to to get me a tax credit so I don’t have to pay so much.” He nodded his head for her to lead the way.

“You said something about telling someone who is stupid, but you don’t have to be stupid to fall for those things. You can hear it repeatedly and believe you know everything but then you fall for it. I’ve met more than my fair share of those people who want a quick fix for it, but I have none.” He was being honest and he was only sharing these things because he couldn’t not do that for her. It would weigh on him too much not to share the information so now that it was out there it was easier to walk with her to where ever it was she lived.

When the door was opened he fell against the door frame. He was never short of a bruised face when it came to his job of choice these days. He groaned as he looked at her, “Aish. Why do I always end up here?” He pushed himself up to only stumble back as he looked around himself, trying to figure out his journey from point A to point B. He’d been drinking clearly but it always appeared he was beaten up along the way. “Sorry.” He raised up a clench fist in the air as he turned around a couple times trying to figure out how to get out.

Her eyes widened and her arms came out to grip onto his jacket once he stumbled. “Yeah, that’s what I’m asking. But you’re not going anywhere like this, get in here.” She took his arm to guide him into her home and over to the sofa. A hand brushed over his bruises with a disapproving look. “What even happened to you?” Jia questioned before hurrying into the kitchen to get him ice.

Some how he managed not to trip over his big feet that his long legs just didn’t understand tonight. He sat down on the couch and leaned back until he was laying across the couch (not that he even fully fit). “Another son of a woman, whose cards I read found me. He said…” He sat up suddenly and wagged his fingers as he changed his voice, “You’re the reason my mother is no longer giving me money! Do you know who I am asshole?! Make my mom change her mind!” He started laughing as he ran his fingers through his hair and then pulled it so it stood in various directions. “Ah, why do grown men make me feel sorry toward my own mom?”

She had been woken up by a loud banging on her door and had to rub at her eyes once more to make sure she was seeing things correctly. Y-You? What are you doing here?

When the door was opened he fell against the door frame. He was never short of a bruised face when it came to his job of choice these days. He groaned as he looked at her, “Aish. Why do I always end up here?” He pushed himself up to only stumble back as he looked around himself, trying to figure out his journey from point A to point B. He’d been drinking clearly but it always appeared he was beaten up along the way. “Sorry.” He raised up a clench fist in the air as he turned around a couple times trying to figure out how to get out.

He managed to catch the door before it shut on its own. He could feel the energy coming from her and while she was walking ahead of him now he was picking out another card. He read it over and realized more information and that as well he hadn’t properly explained the card. He sighed heavily as he shook his head, “No. I didn’t explain that properly. The card points to being a mother, sister, daughter, and all things feminine. You will have more children or maybe you are now. When I say not to want too much, I mean that don’t want the absolute impossible. Don’t make decisions that could be seen as selfish. Such as don’t do those become rich quick schemes, don’t fall for scams, or believe that a job that pays a lot yet seems easy is true. Just keep being true to who you are and you will wind up very fruitful.”

As he spoke he was busying himself with placing things into a carrying basket he had. He wasn’t sure about all the things but he hoped they worked. He handed the basket to her, “I read another card.” That was his explanation while he went to the fridge area to grab milk, not bothering with the price. “I’m not sure what else you might need. You can say no and refuse, but I’ll still buy everything and get them to your place.” This time he was going down another aisle to look at the other things that might be good to put in the basket but then again he wasn’t a man who had children nor dealt with them growing up. Children seemed to like him just fine and he was good with them, but he didn’t understand what it took to raise one.

“I wouldn’t say I’m disappointed in finding out this news. If you are just working toward it, well I feel extremely grateful to know you still. Honored.” He chuckled as he bowed his head in her direction.

Crossing her arms, her lips curved into a sly smile. She was pleasantly surprised. “Is that so? Then I’m quite pleased to not be a disappointment. And what about you? Do you have any weird goals in life like me?”

Raising up one of his large hands he tapped his fingers against his chin. He could say a number of things if he wanted to but he supposed he’d be honest with the exchange they were already having. “Suppose I have no end goal in mind. My only goal is to continue the family legacy, not that I’m as grand as the women before me. Still I have some ability so I might as well use it to spread to everyone who is willing to try it out.” He pulled the cards from his pocket and he easily fanned them so the decorative teal and gold pattern against the back was shown. Easily he flipped them together in one stack as he smiled.
